Sarah

Sarah began her journey with me shortly after having her baby.

We started training when her third baby was only a few months old.  All the sessions were based in the kitchen so her baby could be close by. The aim was to reduce body fat and gain some strength.

A few weeks in Sarah suffered a set back with a knee issue (not related to training!) which meant any lower body work was quite painful.  This did not stop us training, we just adapted.  Boxing was the type of training that could allow Sarah to train whilst sat down and not put pressure on her knee.  This aided her recovery but still enabled her to work towards her goal.

After 6 months of training Sarah had lost 16 inches across her body and was back into her pre-pregnancy clothes.  This was not achieved as a quick loss, it was consistent and regular training to ensure exercise was part of her weekly schedule and achievable without denying herself.

Sarah was an excellent client and always happy to try new training methods.

katie

Katie wanted to reach her 10k goal!

After being stuck in a bit of a vicious circle of training then having long gaps in between, Katie started PT sessions with a certain goal in mind - to be able to run a non-stop 10km!  Having achieved this many years before, Katie was dedicated and determined to get there again.  A weekly PT session focussing on strength training, twice weekly runs + static cycling sessions for stamina and PT ‘homework’ set Katie on the right path.  This plan provided focus and small steps towards the end goal.  As always with family life and children, there were a few set backs and weeks without sticking to the plan, but Katie always got back onboard and focussed.

The 10km race was run in excellent time and the goal of running non-stop achieved.

However Katie did not want to stop there - the next plan - HALF MARATHON!  So back onto a plan with a few months until race day.  Another HUGE achievement for Katie through sheer hardwork and dedication.

MEL

Mel’s goal was to improve her fitness levels despite her medical issues.

With some medical issues which made exercise of any type extremely challenging, Mel came to me with the goal of being able to just move more.  Standing for any period of time was challenging and restricted movement in many joints.   With a starting point of only a minute or so of gentle cardio, we put in a plan to introduce new training methods which could be adapted and easily navigate the medical issues.

3 months later kettlebells, boxing gloves and dumbbells were staple items in the sessions. Cardio had increased to over 10 minutes without a break, heavy weights being used and many boxing moves being perfected.

Next came the battle ropes in the garden - standing up for most of the session using the ropes to get the heart rate up and have fun.

Mel now has a lot of her own equipment, including battle ropes, kettlebells and a cross trainer and uses her knowledge from the sessions to plan her own home workouts
